UK Opportunity: Perform on the Main Stage at Bestival
April 15, 2016
How would you like to perform your original song on the Main Stage at Bestival? New initiative Tracks4Change has launched an exciting songwriting competition, giving young people in the UK the chance to play their track live to over 50,000 music fans at one of the nation’s most popular festivals!
Who are they looking for?
Tracks4Change are looking for unsigned artists aged between 16 and 22 with an original song about the issues that matter to them. Your song must not be longer than 5 minutes, but any genre of music will be accepted, from pop, jazz and rap, to spoken word, electronic and acoustic.
How do I enter?
Upload a video of your song to YouTube with the lyrics in the description, then CLICK HERE to complete an entry form with the link to your video included. Entries will close on 20th May and a shortlist of 10 chosen artists will be named on 1st June. The winner will be decided by public vote and announced on the 10th June 2016, before going on to perform on the Main Stage at Bestival, which takes place on the Isle of Wight from 8th to the 11th September 2016.
Who decides the winner?
An expert panel of star judges will whittle down the entries before they are put to the public vote. The judges will include BBC DJ and Bestival co-founder Rob da Bank, entrepreneur and SBTV founder Jamal Edwards MBE and critically-acclaimed Game of Thrones and Doctor Who actress Maisie Williams.
