Made In America Wrap-Up
August 26, 2016
An intimate crowd received all-important advice from some legends of the US music industry and Ditto’s Anthony Barton.
Held at Sydney’s World Bar, Made In America was the first of hopefully many pop-up seminars. Featuring the likes of producer Maad Scientist, Ex-Capital Records’ Walter Jordan and songwriter Attozzio Town, the crowd were able to ask all the questions they’d like in an extremely intimate setting.
Maad, Walter and Attozzio were in and out of studios all day and still managed to attend the event before heading back to the studio after the event finished. They spoke of their childhoods growing up together in Jacksonville, Florida, the struggles of the music industry and ways that you can overcome writer’s block, getting turned down by labels and what makes a great song.
Anthony was also on hand to give advice to artists about how to get their foot in the door, how they can best maximise their Spotify pages and other ways that artists can help themselves to get noticed.
Between everyone on the panel, the collective experience amounted to a wealth of knowledge that could help any artist find their footing.
Thanks to everyone who came down last night and for having a good ol' chat after the event! If you couldn't make it, keep an eye out for more exciting events like this and get involved!
