Introducing our new upload system
August 3, 2016
We’ve launched our new, streamlined upload system, designed to make it even easier for artists to plan, schedule and personalise their release before it goes live on the world’s biggest online music stores.
We’re excited for our users to start making the most of the new system, but to help you understand what’s changed, here’s a quick guide to some of the new and easy-to-use features you’ll find when you come to release your tracks through Ditto Music.
Getting started is easy! Just enter the name of your new release and you’re ready to go.
You’ll then be prompted to provide information about your release, including the name of artist, copyright holder, genre and artwork. You can either upload your own artwork or create something fresh using our fantastic artwork generator.
Then it’s time to upload your tracks. You can upload multiple tracks at once by simply dragging them onto the page, or clicking Select files. We’ve also added new toggle buttons to the upload system, so you can automatically or manually assign artist names and copyright holders to each track, as well as generate the necessary ISRC codes.
Planning your release schedule is next. You’ll be able to pick your precise release date using our helpful calendar, as well as add extras like Pre-Release, iTunes Express, geographic availability and chart registration.
You’ll then be directed to set up your distribution options, starting by deciding how much you’d like to charge for each track and registering your music with PPL for radio airplay royalties.
You’ll also be able to select the stores you’d like to sell your music on. You can select all free stores, streaming-only stores, download-only platforms or make your own custom selection.
DJs and producers also have the option to upgrade to our exciting new product Ditto DJ Plus, offering unlimited distribution to Beatport and Juno, as well as the major mainstream stores like iTunes, Spotify and hundreds more.
Once you've completed all of the steps to upload your track, you'll be able to Add to Basket and finalise your release. Then just sit back and watch as your music appears on the world's most popular music stores!
