Country artist Daniel Reeves released his new single, ‘Young At Heart’ earlier this year. The track precedes his album, ‘In A Moment Of Chaos’, which is set to come out later in the year. We caught up with him to have a chat about regional touring and what the future holds.
Your new album ’In A Moment Of Chaos’ is set to be released next month . What are the main ideas you wanted this album to convey?
My second single Lovers Dream will be released in July.
The message in the track is forgiveness. Whatever the experience there is a lesson in it for all of us. It's about remaining positive and looking forward to the new doors that are opening.
You have shared bills with Lee Kernaghan, Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls) and Stonefield as well as headlined your own shows. What is it you love about performing live?
There's always a nervous excitement playing live. It's about sharing your stories and wearing your heart on your sleeve.
‘Young At Heart’ was the first single off of your forthcoming album. What does the song mean to you?
In some ways Young at Heart was like an affirmation for me. It was written really quickly and it showed me how fast things can turn around.
Being from a small country town, how important is regional touring?
I really enjoy touring regionally. The open road is fantastic and you get to meet lots of great people. Country towns show a lot of support for live music. There's so much to learn from their history and it's great for me to show my perspective on things through my songs.
What is in store for you for the rest of 2016?
I'm looking forward to releasing my album In A Moment of Chaos. I really believe in the songs and stories. I think there's plenty for people to connect with. It's the most up front lyrically I've been on a release so I'm excited to share that with everyone.
