Featured Artist: Anna Boustead & After the Rain
July 1, 2015
We had an amazing time in Darwin, NT last week as a part of Music NT's IN TUNE Conference, and met Ditto-distributed artists Anna Boustead & After the Rain, and saw their great set in the warm and sticky Darwin venue Happy Yesss.
They are this week's Ditto Featured Artist as today is Territory Day - and they support Australian pop sensation Jessica Mauboy at a free concert on the beautiful Mindil beach to thousands of fans.
Territory Day is also the only day of the year that territorians can legally release fireworks, so an explosive night lies ahead at Mindil Beach.
Lead singer Anna Boustead said the band were pleased to see support for female singer-songwriters in the Territory, particularly at such a high profile event.
“Besides being extremely excited to be included on the bill with Jess, we are honoured to be featured alongside other strong local acts including Room 105 and Dave Garnham & The Moving Targets in celebrating life in the NT. Our music very much centres around the extreme climate and beauty of the Territory, with many of our songs referencing features of the central desert and tropical north.” Anna Boustead
After the Rain includes Mark Smith on drums, Steve ‘Habibi’ on bass, Brad Ermel on mandolin/guitar, Micha Jackson on viola and singer-songwriter Anna Boustead on vocals/guitar.
