BIGSOUND 2016 Wrap Up
September 15, 2016
We are back from BIGSOUND and had a wonderful time watching our Ditto Artists perform, Speaking on and attending panels and discussing the future of music with some of the industry’s finest.
Our own Sarah Hamilton represented Ditto Music on a panel about the flow of money and data from artists to consumers and everyone in between. Digital Flow: An Explanation of Data, Distribution and Money was moderated by Nick O'Byrne (Look Out Kid) and other speakers included: Arlo Enemark from Xelon Digital, Charles Caldas from the Merlin Network, Simon Wheeler from Beggars Group, Matt Bird from White Sky and Thomas Heymann from Pandora.
One of the things that we took away from BIGSOUND was the overwhelming optimism within the music industry towards streaming. At the conference there were many different groups involved in the world of streaming from digital aggregators like us, to the streaming services, managers, labels and artists. All of whom spoke of the benefits of utilising streaming in the new digital landscape.
Another highlight was seeing some our Ditto Artists perform during the BIGSOUND festival. These included:
