Aus Opp: These Amazing Festivals Are Now Taking Artist Applications

Ever wanted to play the Woodford Folk Festival? How about the Port Fairy Folk Fest? Here’s a list of great festivals taking artist applications now!

Neurum Creek Music Festival

Held in September, this 3-day camping festival is located around 14kms from Woodford in Queensland. This acoustic festival features many local acts as well as sourcing acts from all over our fair country.

Woodford Folk Festival

Just down the road from Neurum is one of Australia’s premiere music events. Held over 6 days and nights from December 27-January 1st, the event features over 2000 performers from around the world!

Artist applications close on April 29th at 8pm.

Island Vibe Festival

Held from the 28th-30th of October, Island Vibe takes place on the magnificent Stradbroke Island. Located around 90 minutes East of Brisbane, Stradbroke Island is an ideal location to soak in some sounds. Island Vibe is seeking reggae, roots, electronic and soul acts for their 2016 event.

Mullum Music festival

Mullum, short for Mullumbimby, is 19 kms North-West of Byron Bay, NSW. Held over 4 days in November and features hoards of Australia’s best rock, folk, blues and roots artists.

Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival

Located about an hour inland of Coffs Harbour (and just North of the aptly named Diehappy State Forest) in NSW, Dorrigo features some of Australia’s best folk and bluegrass acts as well as up-and-comers. This year’s event is held from October 21-23.

Tablelands Folk Festival

Running from Oct 20-23, the Tablelands Festival is located in Yungaburra in the Atherton Tablelands, about 65 mins from Cairns. Held over various venues in Yungaburra, the festival features folk, acoustic, roots, jazz, blues and world musicians.

Port Fairy Folk Festival

The Port Fairy Folk Festival is the Southern-most festival in this list. Situated around 30kms from Woornambool in Victoria, the festival is celebrated its 40th year in 2016. This is another festival that’s held over multiple venues, with hundreds of artists performing over the 4 days in March. Obviously you’ve missed your chance for this year’s event, but they are currently seeking acts for the 2017 lineup.
