Adele Dominates Ivor Novello Awards

The 57th Ivor Novello Awards which are due to take place on May 17th will see Adele rewarded once again for her record breaking album '21'. Her 4 nominations span across 3 genres with 'Rolling In The Deep' up for 'Best Song Musically & Lyrically' as well as the PRS award for 'Most Performed Work' alongside her epic ballad 'Someone Like You'. The body of work that her 2 seminal songs are taken from, '21', is then rightly listed in the category for 'Best Album'.

The Ivor Novello Awards recognise and celebrate the best in songwriting and composing and alongside Adele other artists up for the awards are Ed Sheeran, Florence & The Machine and Lana Del Rey. However some eyebrows may be raised at the inclusion of James Blake's 'Wilhelm Scream', for while undoubtedly being a fantastic piece of music it has been around long enough to have been eligible for last years awards.
