$50,000 Carlton Dry Music Grant!
July 9, 2014
Applications are now open for the second-ever $50,000 Carlton Dry Global Music Grant, created in association with the Australian Independent Records Association (AIR).
Created last year as a way of assisting an emerging Australian artist or band launch/boost their international profile, "There is so much talent in Australian music right now we can't wait to see the entries that come in this year.'' said Rob Elder, Brand Manager of Carlton Dry.
Australian artists or bands interested in applying for the grant can either be emerging or established, but must be self released or released via an independent
label. Additionally the prize money can only be used exclusively to help tour, showcase, record or relocate overseas to further their careers.
Last years winner King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, put their $50k toward their first ever tour of the US and Canada, playing at the Austin Psych Fest, and renting a lodge in Catskills Mountains to work on their forth coming album. Not to mention the hoard of fans collected along the way, all in all a very productive use of the grant, thus ensuring its return this year.
Interested artists should head here to view the full selection criteria and lodge their application. Following review by a judging panel of industry experts, the winner will be announced at the 2014 AIR Awards this October.
The entries will close on September 1st so don't miss the chance of becoming the 2014 Carlton Dry Global Music Grant winner and of course that $50,000 good luck!
